Human Tissue

All staff and students working with human samples are required to register, undertake training and maintain a Research Training Portfolio (RTP) in addition to laboratory specific induction and Lab Code of Conduct and Guidelines which must be completed before a researcher may work in any University of Lincoln laboratory.

The first training session will run on Wednesday 10th October and can be booked onto using the following Eventbrite link:

The Research using Human Samples – Knowing your Responsibilities training session will:

  • Outline the Human Tissue Act, 2004
  • Describe the University of Lincoln approach to research with human tissue
  • Seek input to further inform the process

Following this session, you will:

  • Have an overview of the Human Tissue Act 2004
  • Know when the Act applies
  • Understand what constitutes best practice
  • Be armed with advice to support compliance
  • Know where to find help
